We`re getting there mate be patient.
I`m grinding CBs for that reason only.
So why do`nt we make it a debate?
I`m a heavy pilot but i think that the battlemaster is goin to be my favorite!
What do you think?

It will all depend on actual size and maximum engine ratings.
If I would go just with what I liked, T-Bolt and Locust. Battlemaster is more of a Davion/Kurita front thing and ShadowHawk...well in TT it stands out as going from a lackluster design in 3025 to an utter abomination in its 3050 "upgrade" variant. I carry a lot of resentment with me when it comes to the SHD.
Sidenote: The central chest piece of the BattleMaster. From the image it looks like it will be targetable even from the sides. The side torsos or the arms don“t obstruct your view on it. I dub thee "Awesome-Syndrome".

http://mwomercs.com/phoenix has the max engine ratings for the Phoenix variants listed as:
Mech |
Max Eng |
Max Speed |
LCT-1V(P) |
170 (but forum post / twitters says they're upping it to 190 ) |
137.7/151.5 |
SHD-2H(P) |
360 |
106/116.6 |
TDR-5S(P) |
315 |
78.5/86.4 |
BLR-1G(P) |
400 |
76.2/83.9 |
WVR-6R(P) |
360 |
106/116.6 |
GRF-1N(P) |
360 |
106/116.6 |
I do like a good fast assault, so the BLR is probably going to be fun.
I also love me some mediums, so all those 55tonners are going to be enjoyed as well.
The locust ... I'm not sure about. I don't see it being a big contribution to the battlefield, but I love it for nostalgia reasons.

semi-DOA, but:
a) the upped engine might make a difference and
b) it's a freaking light 'Mech after over half a year... every light 'Mech is a welcome addition

Yup, exactly. I'll totally give it a try to do another light. I just fear it's going to feel like a squishier commie.

My idea exactly!
But if they follow the canon size of the Lcust it is goin to be very small.
On the other hand if you see the picture on the top of the Phoenix Project screen that has all the mechs in a line the Locust isn`t so small , in fact the smallest per tonnage is the Thunderbolt.
So a Locust that is underarmed and lighter than the others and bigger than a spider and no JJ or ECM then it is goin to be a nightmare!

Don't rely on that picture, they are scaled up and down to suit the sale page. Looking at the screenshots above the locust makes the spider look big!

Yup. There was a screenshot that had both a Locust and a Spider and the Locust was like 2/3 the Spiders's size. Also, it's actually packing more firepower than the Spider (or exactly as much in the case of the ballistic versions).
The lack of any sensible armor and the lack of JJs is a huge problem, though. I'm especially sad about the latter.
