The following changes have been made to the forum:

• User Group Permissions Changed:
  • Registered Users
    • Can download attachments.
    • Cannot add attachments.
  • 4th RH Members
    • Can now add attachments to posts and Private Messages.
    • Download attachments.
    • Change username.
    • Use Flash bbcode.
    • Forward Private Messages.
  Forum Changes:
  • Ranks
    • Deleted all ranks and re-added the full list of official FWL ranks. They now sort in the proper order.
    • Added rank images for all FWL ranks up to Colonel.
  • Avatar Settings
    • Maximum Avatar Dimensions increased to 100 x 100.
    • Maximum Avatar File Size increased to 512KB. However please be considerate of users with slower connections.
    • You can now link to an off-site avatar.
      • Please be sure you have permission on the remote host and/or from the content owner to do this!
    • You can now upload an avatar to be hosted on our site from a remote site by providing a link.
      • Please be sure you have permission on the remote host and/or from the content owner to do this!
  • Activated attachments
    • One special attachment may only be posted in the Mech Bay and Private Messages. The MWO MechBay .mbv file.
    • No maximum file size.
    • Forum-wide quota is 500 MBs. Can be increased but please try to keep file sizes low.
    • Attached photos are auto-thumbnailed to fit the page format better.
      • They can be clicked to be viewed full size.
    • Maximum attachments per post is 5. Maximum per Private Message is 1.
    • Warez or other illegal files WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Pornography IS NOT ALLOWED.
      • You are responsible for the content you post. Breaking these rules is grounds for immediate banning. I will happily share IP information with authorities if you put ME at risk!
    • What you attach IS NOT PRIVATE. I will be monitoring the folder files are uploaded to.

The MEMBERS button between HOME and SEARCH is now modified to show only the full members of the 4th RH in a rank sorted format. This behavior is different from showing every user registered on the forum and should help avoid some confusion.

This is your classic Spoiler tag. I merely chose to call it "Hidden" instead of Spoiler as it has so many more uses than just for spoilers.

Usage:

In use example:

Hidden: show

This is an example of the Hidden BBCode.
Use this in any instance where you post a spoiler.
Or if you are posting something large that you don't want to fill up the vertical space in your post.

I will likely tweak the border color on it, but for now it is functional.

Since there are a number of posts in our Mech Bays that do not follow the guidelines I posted, I have made the guidelines more visible.

At the top of the main Mech Bay category, and at the top of every specific Mech page you will see a section called "Forum Rules". I cannot change that title, but I have posted the guidelines there. These guidelines utilize the new Hidden tag to make the template available without making the guidelines take up a ton of room at the top of the page.

I will start combing through the Mech Bays and will request that posts which do not follow the guidelines be edited to conform to them. It is as simple as copy, paste, edit. I'll even make an instructional video and hold your hand through the process if needed.

I have adjusted the style sheet for the theme we use on our forum. It now limits the width of images linked in a post from an external website.

This should not affect the already limited thumbnail width of images uploaded to the site.

There is now a new BBCode tag [smurfy] to allow you to display a preview panel of your build from Smurfy's Mechlab.

To use the code:

• Create a build on Smurfy's Mechlab.
  • Click the "Save and share loudout" button
  • Look at the very last field titled "Plain Link".
    • This is very important. DO NOT use the "Link as BBcode" field. This only generates a text link here in our forum.
  • Right click in this field and click "Select All".
  • Copy the selected text.
• Start a new forum post here on our website.
  • Paste the "Plain Link" you copied earlier in the post.
  • Select the entire link again.
  • Look above the text box area to the BBcode buttons and click "smurfy" which appears next to "right".
  • Click preview on your post to verify that the preview panel appears as it does in this post.

Forum rules for the Mech Bay areas have been updated to take up less space at the top of the page. You must now click a link to view the rules.

It is your responsibility to be familiar with the rules. A build post that does not follow the rules may be removed without warning.

Minor tweak: Updated the YouTube tag code. Use it exactly as you did before, however the fullscreen button on the player now works. I'm sure there are other benefits, as this is the latest embed code from YouTube.

Identified a bug with the Private Message system. I have worked around it. Administrators, and full 4th RH members can now add up to 100 recipients to PMs (however, please don't try to use it to that limit). It previously was set to unlimited, but that setting is bugged and was effectively being treated as 4.

Private message inboxes are now expanded for Administrators, Global Moderators, and 4th RH members.

Updated the forum to the latest version of phpBB.

Accidentally left the forum locked overnight. Sorry about that.
